Matthew Smith
Founder, CEO
Matthew Smith is either two wily youngsters stacked in a trenchcoat or a full grown man—some days it may be hard to tell. He’s super keen on his three nutty kids and hops between life in San Francisco and Greenville, SC. On the work front, he runs Fathom & Draft and Really Good Emails. His design brain’s been on projects for Walmart, Seth Godin, Gates Foundation and MIT. Thankfully, he was rarely asked to leave the room. On top of that, he’s helped lead three venture-backed startups and founded Atlas Local, a vibrant co-working space in Greenville, SC. All of these adventures feed his talks on design, business, leadership, idiocy and The Golden Age of Email. It’s coming so pull on your spam pants and brace yourself. Outside of work, Matthew is passionate about recovery, throws pots (on the pottery wheel, mostly), shoots pictures and rides a Triumph Scrambler. Not bad but he also looks forward to Canasta-filled days with tennis balls on his walker and a grumpy old man scowl on his face.
