Interview
When and how did you get your start in marketing?
Finding a job in marketing as an international student is never easy, as employers must invest time and resources to help candidates obtain a valid work visa. To make myself more competitive, I completed multiple internships and co-ops during graduate school. After graduating, I somehow landed my first full-time job in email marketing at a marketing agency. It wasn’t intentional—I was simply searching for any related job that could help me secure a visa.
What brings you joy in your role?
I leverage both data and creativity to drive impact, making my role both analytical and strategy-focused.

What do you think will be the next big thing in the marketing industry (AI, automation, new channels?)
AI and mobile marketing!
What would you like to see brands doing more of? Or less of?
I would love to receive fewer pure sales ad hoc emails, especially when the content is repetitive every day. I wonder if there’s a way to incorporate more value beyond just saying, “Hey, it’s time to purchase something you just bought.”
If you weren’t a marketer, what would you be?
Farmer or gardener! Spend my day with nature. 🙂
If you came with a warning label, what would it say?
I am competitive and very straightforward.
