Announcing Keynote Speakers at Activate 19

T-minus one month until our growth marketing conference, Activate 19!  Join 600+ of the industry’s most innovative marketers working toward transforming the what customer engagement truly means.

A jam-packed agenda with world-class speakers and networking opportunities galore—here’s the latest on what you can expect at Activate 19.

Visionary Keynote Speakers

Day 1’s morning kicks off with an opening keynote from Justin Zhu, co-founder and CEO of Iterable. Justin will walk us through Iterable’s vision and share the newest developments along our product roadmap!

Following Justin, we have invited renowned storyteller Duncan Wardle to share his wisdom with us. The former Vice President of Innovation & Creativity at The Walt Disney Company, Duncan spent his 25-year career at Disney developing some of their most innovative strategies—ideas that would forever change the way the company expands its impact, trains its employees and solves problems creatively.

As one of the most impactful speakers on creativity, Duncan leans on his experiences to take audiences on awe-inspiring journeys. World-class marketing manifests when you evolve beyond business-as-usual and unleash your imagination.

For our Day 2 keynote, “Connection as the Catalyst of Exponential Growth,” we’ll welcome Karen Wickre, a veteran connector and communicator who spent a total of 15 years at Google and Twitter and has been called, “the best-connected Silicon Valley figure you’ve never heard of.”

Karen’s new book, “Taking the Work Out of Networking: An Introvert’s Guide to Making Connections that Count,” reflects her lifelong interest in creating meaningful connections. We’ll be putting her best practices into action at Activate with several hosted meetups and opportunities to learn from and engage with each other.

We will then be joined in a fireside chat with Ben Finkel, a serial entrepreneur and technologist. Ben led the Growth team at Pinterest, launching its new mobile web platform. Prior to Pinterest, Ben led the New User Experience team at Twitter, helping grow its active user base from 50 million to more than 200 million.

Ben will continue the conversation on the importance of meaningful connections and how those connections were the catalyst of the growth that both Pinterest and Twitter experienced.

Top Activate Sessions

In addition to our keynotes, Activate 19 has 39 breakout sessions and meetups divided across three tracks: Strategy, Execution, and Power of Iterable.

All those who strive to create world-class customer experiences will love the Strategy Track, which focuses on dreaming up innovative marketing that makes an impact.

In the Strategy session, “Playing all the Right Notes of Your Customer Journey,” Brian Schmidt from Fender discusses how they compose customer journeys capable of transforming offline data into detail-rich portraits of interaction. He’ll share their approach for mapping a holistic journey that surfaces buying signal strengths, weaknesses and opportunities.

If you want to learn how to get things done, then our Execution Track is for you. These sessions will dive deep and teach the advanced tactics needed to turn your big marketing dreams into reality. Like-minded marketers can join the six Execution-focused meetups and discuss similar industry challenges or specific use cases.

In the Execution Track, Brian Sun, Lifecycle Marketing Manager at Opendoor, will present his session, “Hands off the Wheel: Automating Your Customer Experience.” In it, he will provide you with a clear vision and end-to-end automation strategy which spans the entire cross-channel customer journey and ensures no customer slips through the cracks.

Our third and final track, The Power of Iterable, gives you a look under the hood—showing you how to get the most out of our growth marketing platform. Iterable customers from a swath of industries will cover everything from uncovering the power of data feeds to how to best construct a scaling data infrastructure.

In her session, “Building a Marketing Castle on a Strong Data Foundation,” Katie Gillespie, Product Manager at Redfin, will walk us through how Redfin’s experience shaping their data structure to maximize Iterable’s capabilities. With a scalable infrastructure in place, they now can reach every customer along their unique home-buying and home-selling journey.
