Iterable has as good of a multichannel journey editor as any other company and it is only getting better with time.
Interview
When and how did you get your start in marketing?
As a computer science grad, it was a complete accident. I posted my resume to online classifieds. I received a response. I thought it was a scam, but turned out to be the role that got my career in motion in email marketing (and later crm, etc).
Â
What brings you joy in your role?
Receiving compliments for my work. If someone does a good job, let them know! It goes a long way.
What challenges was your team experiencing before Iterable? How has Iterable helped address these challenges?
Prior to my arrival at the company, good journey functionality was lacking. Basic email newsletters could be delivered, but anything more complex wasn’t optimal. My first major task was to enhance this capability. I had demoed Iterable at my previous company and it was already on my wish list. Iterable has as good a multichannel journey editor as any other company and it is only getting better with time.
What’s your long-term vision with Iterable?
Integrate more subscriber data into the system and create more complex journeys that actually span multiple journeys chained together. Not everyone sets out on the same journey, in life and in Iterable/CRM hahaha.
What do you think will be the next big thing in the marketing industry (AI, automation, new channels?)
Um, can anyone not say AI? The imminent super productivity tool, or a looming threat? We shall see.
How do you stay up–to–date with the latest trends and developments in marketing?
Blogs and newsletters mostly. Of course, Iterable’s newsletter is on the list!
If you weren’t a marketer, what would you be?
Veterinarian, except I’m not sure I could handle the bad parts of the job. You know what I mean 😢
What is one goal you’d like to achieve in your lifetime?
I would like to learn to fly a helicopter or a plane.
