Interview
What brings you joy in your role?
I enjoy seeing hard work come to life and positively impact those around me. Whether it be one of my teammates or one of our Operators, it’s very satisfying to see that all the thought and energy put into a project has made their lives easier or brought them fulfillment.
What are some of your career highlights or campaigns that you’re especially proud of?
I’m most recently proud of our transition to Iterable as a whole. The implementation lasted about a year and required a lot of determination, long days, and technical learnings. It also required partnering with various vendors and other internal departments, so working together as a team and seeing the project come to life has made me extremely proud.
What tips, tricks, or pieces of advice would give a new Iterable user?
Stay as organized as possible and document everything you can. It can be easy to get lost in the excitement of the platform and all its capabilities, so having an organizational structure and documentation you can lean back on will be helpful. I would also recommend spending as much time as you need on the front end with the setup and testing, because it makes things much easier/cleaner once all your data is flowing in in real time!
What led you to choose Iterable over others in the market?
The level of partnership they showed us from the beginning. With partnership being one of Texas Roadhouse’s core values, it was very important to know that we could count on Iterable to play a big role in our success. After our initial conversations, we felt confident that their team would be in the trenches with us every step of the way, and that truly was the case!
What does customer experience mean to you, and how does Iterable play a role?
To me, the customer experience is inclusive of every touchpoint a customer has with a brand, both in-person and digitally. It’s important to me that our guests feel a consistent experience throughout their entire journey, so when they leave our restaurant and see us in the digital space, they still feel our warm and inviting ambience. Staying true to who we are as a brand as the guest moves through their journey is key.
As a consumer, what brings you joy from a brand’s outreach/communication?
Authenticity. I feel connected to a brand when it’s clear they are consistent in who they are and the ways they communicate with me. I think this is especially applicable with the tone a brand uses – when it’s a friendly and casual tone, I feel more comfortable with letting them into my inbox, rather than brands who use a sales-forward tone.
How do you stay up–to–date with the latest trends and developments in marketing?
I stay as engaged as possible with other digitally-savvy brands to take note of how they engage with me. I enjoy observing communication channels, trends, and branding from brands all over the board, not just in the restaurant space.
What’s one thing that can instantly make your day better?
A spicy margarita.
If you weren’t a marketer, what would you be?
A fitness instructor!
