Interview
What brings you joy in your role?
I love solving problems and being a developer, I am constantly looking for ways to improve our marketing campaigns. I also enjoy building our emails from basic code to advance, pushing my skills every day.
What are some of your career highlights or campaigns that you’re especially proud of?
In the last two years alone, I am proud of contributing to a brand relaunch that included building a new email template of over 26 responsive modules and shifting to a new instance in Iterable.
What tips, tricks, or pieces of advice would give a new Iterable user?
100% take the time to go through the Iterable Academy! It is so well done and the certificate at the end is a really cool accomplishment.
What challenges was your team experiencing before Iterable? How has Iterable helped address these challenges?
According to our premier support agent, Vetsource has the second largest catalog within Iterable. This led to timeouts in emails with collection logic. When we brought it up to the Iterable team we helped their engineers identify what the cap is for time outs. It’s still an ongoing support process to identify what Vetsource’s cap but between using the send rate limit and wait nodes in the journeys, we’re on our way to a solution.
Besides Iterable, what are the other tools in your marketing toolkit that you can’t live without?
On any given day, I have Google mail and calendar, Slack, Wrike, Knak, Marketo, and of course Iterable open. I also can not live without Dreamweaver.
What do you think will be the next big thing in the marketing industry (AI, automation, new channels?)
With the advancements in AI, I think we’ll see better enhancements in automation journeys with more detailed logic. I also think with the advanced security measures being put in place with Apple, Google will follow in the coming years making opens absolutely obsolete. Perhaps AI can help support this…
If you weren’t a marketer, what would you be?
A veterinarian. I really can’t see myself doing anything else.
If you came with a warning label, what would it say?Â
My cat WILL appear on every zoom call because she has to be the center of my attention.
