Interview

When and how did you get your start in marketing?

I majored in Journalism in college, and when there weren’t a lot of jobs in that field after graduating, I ended up in Marketing and CRM because it’s all about understanding your audience and telling compelling stories to elicit emotional reactions.

What brings you joy in your role?

I’m happy when my customers are happy. I learned several years ago that I want to work at companies with quality products or services that bring joy and improve the lives of the people using it. I’m happy every day knowing that people’s lives are better off with my company in them.

What led you to choose Iterable over others in the market?

I like that Iterable was built as a multi-channel solution from inception. Instead of being a collection of acquired solutions bolted together, it’s been developed from the start to support and orchestrate a variety of channels.

What does customer experience mean to you, and how does Iterable play a role?

My job is to make our customers have the best experience possible with our products. Customer experience extends beyond the product and into a broader brand experience. If we’re doing our job right, nothing should feel like spam – it should always feel like a user has everything they need. Iterable empowers us to ensure we’re reaching the right user with the right message on the right channel at the right time for an optimized user experience.

As a consumer, what brings you joy from a brand’s outreach/communication?

I love when a brand is relatable and feels authentic. If I can identify things about myself in the brand, I’m more endeared to them and more likely to engage and stay loyal.

How do you stay up–to–date with the latest trends and developments in marketing?

I never opt out. I sign up for every possible newsletter and notification out there. And I’m always up for a vendor chat – tech is changing all the time, and it’s important to know what’s out there. Inspiration can come from anywhere.

What’s one thing that can instantly make your day better?

My dog Checkers!

If one song could play every time you entered a meeting, what would it be?

Mic Drop by BTS.
