At Joybird, Yvette is responsible for driving customer retention and lifetime value to fuel deeper engagement with customers to increase revenue and retention. She is responsible for the development of the customer journey and owning the strategy, roadmap, and execution for retention marketing channels including email & SMS. When and how did you get your start in marketing?
In 2008, I began working for a small technology company. My first role was a Sales & Marketing Specialist. My role consisted of working with different clients and developing promotional materials including: brochures,displays for conferences, product guides, print advertisements, postcards, and of course email marketing.
What brings you joy in your role?
I enjoy developing a comprehensive email marketing strategy, collaborating with others, analyzing data, and seeing the email channel grow.
What challenges was your team experiencing before Iterable? How has Iterable helped address these challenges?
The challenges we faced before switching over to Iterable was not having an integrated approach using one platform for both email and SMS. Although it’s still a work in progress we’re moving toward the right direction.

What do you think will be the next big thing in the marketing industry (AI, automation, new channels?)
The next big thing in the marketing industry is definitely AI! We have signed up to use Iterable’s full AI suite.

To stay up-to-date on the latest trends and developments in marketing I like to collaborate with other leaders in the email marketing space, read blogs, attend industry conferences and webinars.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?
The best advice I’ve been given is to lead by example.
What’s one thing that can instantly make your day better?
One thing that instantly makes my day better is getting hugs from my kiddos.
