Anyone else feel like time is flying by this year? We only have three months until our growth marketing conference, Activate 20! Iterable is returning to the historic Palace Hotel in San Francisco on June 8-10, and you won’t want to miss your chance to mingle with 800+ of the industry’s most innovative minds who are expanding the boundaries of modern marketing.
A jam-packed agenda with world-class speakers and networking opportunities galore—here’s the latest on what you can expect at Activate 20.
Visionary Keynote Speakers
Iterable co-founder and CEO Justin Zhu will kick off the first day of programming on Tuesday, June 9, offering his unique perspective on the growth marketing landscape and his vision on the future of personalization.
Following Justin’s keynote, we have invited renowned brand builder Jonathan Mildenhall to join us. As former CMO of Airbnb, Jonathan helped transform the industry-disrupting property rental platform into the next global iconic Superbrand—skyrocketing in valuation from $1 billion to $35 billion in the four years he spent at the company.
Jonathan has previously served as VP of Global Advertising Strategy and creative at The Coca-Cola Company, leading the team that launched Coca-Cola’s global marketing platform, “Open Happiness,” which became their most profitable and awarded marketing platform ever.
Today Jonathan runs his own brand consultancy called TwentyFirstCenturyBrand. Based in San Francisco, TwentyFirstCenturyBrand counts industry leaders like Sean Parker and Arianna Huffington as founding clients, alongside Pinterest, Peloton, Uber, Nextdoor, Headspace, and Front. Jonathan specializes in helping founders and CEOs realize the potential of their company brand and the financial value that purpose-driven marketing can help create.
In the afternoon keynote, Iterable’s new VP of Product Bela Stepanova will cover our latest product features and enhancements, as well as what to expect on our roadmap in the year ahead. Prior to joining Iterable, Bela spent nearly seven years at Box, where she recently served as Senior Director, Product Management, leading Box’s first growth team focused on user adoption and engagement.
On Wednesday, June 10, we’ll welcome Brendan Witcher, VP and Principal Analyst, Digital Business Strategy at Forrester. Brendan is an expert on consumer behavior and technology trends in the commerce engagement space. In his research, he covers topics such as personalization and customer experience best practices, engagement strategies and conversion optimization.
Before joining Forrester, Brendan amassed 25 years of experience working for enterprise organizations in retail and hospitality. He has held multiple leadership positions with Guitar Center and Harry & David, including roles in strategic planning, e-commerce operations, digital marketing, business analytics, customer insights and CRM.
With the insights presented by these keynote speakers, you’ll walk away from Activate 20 with a deep understanding of growth marketing, brand building and cross-channel customer engagement.
Our Pillars to Modern Marketing
In addition to our keynotes, Activate 20 has 20+ breakout sessions, roundtables and panels divided across four tracks: Customer-First, Tech-Forward, and Community-Powered on Day 1 and Growth-Driven on Day 2.
Customer-First
The Customer-First track will discuss how to place empathy at the heart of your growth marketing strategy. These sessions will demonstrate how to create human connections that will lead to relationships, which in turn will generate long-term loyalty. In her presentation, “New Users: Be a Warm Hug, Not a Death Grip,” Katie Welch, Growth Marketing Manager at Convoy, will explain how to onboard and support new users—without coming across as a stage-five clinger.
Tech-Forward
The Tech-Forward track will dive deep into the growth marketing technology stack, discussing the inner workings of cross-channel integration and automation. Here you’ll learn how to create, execute and optimize campaigns across email, mobile push, in-app messaging and more. In her session, “What I Learned From Driving Record Customer Growth to Being Blacklisted in the Same Week,” Jade Kolber, Senior Marketing Manager – Email at 99designs will reveal how she overcame every email marketer’s worst nightmare during their Cyber Monday campaign.
Community-Powered
The Community-Powered track brings together the growth marketing community in a whole new way, from industry-specific roundtables to panels on how to develop professionally. These sessions will offer opportunities to network, collaborate and learn from both experts and peers. In the panel, “How to Work With People,” Sarah Esterman, Lifecycle Marketing Manager at Webflow, and Loren Elia, Director of Product Marketing at HoneyBook, will share tactical tips for building relationships with colleagues and leveraging cross-functional partnerships to create successful campaigns.
Growth-Driven
The Growth-Driven track on Day 2 combines the powers of the three Day 1 tracks to highlight how harnessing customer empathy, technology and community can drive significant business growth.
