When and how did you get your start in marketing?

Starting in IT, I found that CRM and marketing offered the perfect intersection between a technical background and a creative personality. When I had the opportunity to join a CRM team, it quickly became clear how closely marketing and technology work together, especially today. That blend of strategy, data, and creativity is what drew me in and continues to keep me excited about the field.

 

What brings you joy in your role?

Both learning and my team bring me a lot of joy in my role. I get to collaborate with people who are supportive, curious, and just as eager to grow as I am. We learn from one another and celebrate each other’s wins, which creates an environment where growth feels natural. I’ve also been pushed to explore new technologies, ideas, and responsibilities. I’m thankful to be in both a position and an industry that constantly evolves and encourages agility, effort, and continuous learning. These opportunities challenge me to become the most efficient and knowledgeable version of myself.

 

What tips, tricks, or pieces of advice would give a new Iterable user?

Read, learn, explore, and test! Iterable has incredibly in-depth documentation that makes it easy to get up to speed quickly. Don’t hesitate to click around and try things out—the best way to learn is through hands-on exploration. Iterable also provides excellent opportunities to test in safe environments where you can experiment freely, build confidence, and better understand how everything works (just remember not to click publish until ready!).

 

What are some Iterable features that have made your job easier? Or have been game-changers for yourself and your team?

Handlebars, Iterable’s Catalog, snippets, and segmentation features have played a huge part in my role. Dynamic personalization through Handlebars has helped create more relevant and engaging messages, while snippets have made it easier to manage complex content structures across multiple campaigns. Iterable’s powerful segmentation tools have also been essential for building audience-first strategies and refining lifecycle journeys. These features have helped me streamline workflows, improve targeting, and elevate the overall quality of our CRM experience.

 

As a consumer, what brings you joy from a brand’s outreach/communication?

Personalization!! As a consumer, I feel so much more inclined toward brands that see me as an individual, not just a blanket statement. When a message reflects my preferences, behaviors, or past interactions, it shows intention and builds trust. Whether it’s a well-timed reminder, a product recommendation I actually care about, or just a tone that feels human, thoughtful communication makes all the difference.

 

What would you like to see brands doing more of? Or less of?

I love untraditional marketing. I’d love to see more brands being authentic and showing that there’s a person behind the screen at the end of the day. Traditional marketing has its place, but a campaign that breaks consistency, takes a creative risk, and connects with people in a fresh way is what really stands out. It’s those unexpected moments that feel human, spark curiosity, and leave a stronger impression of the brand in people’s minds.

 

What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?

The time will pass anyway, start now.

 

What is one goal you’d like to achieve in your lifetime?

Help bring better public transit to my hometown. I’d love to play a role in making it more accessible, connected, and walkable for everyone who lives there.
