Avail car sharing is on a mission to shape the future of transportation, and we’re starting by offering self-service car sharing throughout Chicago and Denver. Borrowers have easy access to a variety of reliable and affordable vehicles in convenient neighborhood locations. Owners get a passive way to earn extra income and derive more value from an expensive asset when they don’t need to drive.

Avail is proud to be a part of Allstate’s family of companies since 2018, enabling better transportation options for the communities we’re in.

Fun Facts

I started playing softball at age 4 and didn’t stop until graduating college!
I have a fear of fish so I won’t go snorkeling or scuba diving…and I grew up in San Diego.
There isn’t anything I love more in the world than dogs, and finally got my own.

Interview

When and how did you get your start in marketing?

During my freshman year of college, I took the course catalog and flipped through every single page and highlighted the courses that sounded the most interesting. While we didn’t have a marketing major itself, the courses I was most interested in were marketing focused and so that started me on my journey!

What brings you joy in your role?

I love being able to collaborate with my peers on other teams (product, engineering, customer service, etc) to make sure all their needs are met throughout the customer’s lifecycle journey. In my role, I get to help strategize but also get into the weeds to implement and execute on, and that balance keeps me on my toes, allowing me to constantly work to improve the customer experience!

What tips, tricks, or pieces of advice would give a new Iterable user?

The support documentation is super helpful and provides great step-by-step instructions on how to do a lot of different things within Iterable. When I can’t figure out how to do something, I always check there first for help!

What does customer experience mean to you, and how does Iterable play a role?

The customer experience is mission critical to any successful business because repeat customers, retention and positive word-of-mouth are the key to success.

We use Iterable for all of our timely transactional customer facing messaging to make sure they have all the necessary details needed for their trip to allow for as seamless of a trip as possible, in turn generating a positive customer experience.

As a consumer, what brings you joy from a brand’s outreach/communication?

I love when the content is customized to me. When I get an email from a brand and it includes relevant products based on past purchases or searches, I feel more connected to the brand vs when I receive irrelevant emails even though the brand has plenty of data on me.

Besides Iterable, what are the other tools in your marketing toolkit that you can’t live without?

We use Segment as our CDP which allows us to trigger comms in Iterable. Without it, we would lack all the personalized content we are able to include based on our customers’ actions.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?

Don’t be afraid to ask questions! There is no such thing as a stupid question, and oftentimes these questions help other people in the room and/or reveal additional information that is helpful for the project at hand.

What’s one thing that can instantly make your day better?

Puppy cuddles. There is just nothing better in the entire world than unconditional love from a pet!
