Interview

What does a typical day look like for you?

I am a morning person so I start my day with a yoga or pilates class and then have a cup of black tea with lemon and honey before I start my day. I begin the day by checking my calendar. I typically have my high-priority tasks already mapped out from the day prior so I schedule out time to work on them throughout the day. At the end of the day I make a note of the top 3 things that I need to do for the following day. This cycle keeps me prioritized and on track with my projects.

What brings you joy in your role?

Lifecycle is very cross-functional and I have the opportunity to work with many different people who are experts in their roles. I find that I always walk away having learned something new.

How did COVID-19 change the way you work, what did you learn? How did you adapt?

There’s less opportunity to have on-the-fly conversations which often lead to new ideas, so something that has helped me adapt is to actively grab time every once in a while specifically for brainstorming sessions.

What is one piece of advice that you would give to a new Iterable user?

Be strategic with the data that you are passing over. Determining ahead of time the end goal will help you decide where your data should live in the platform, how it is being passed over, and when. This makes for a clean project and will enable you as a marketer down the road because it will unlock the full potential of Iterable.

What does customer experience mean to you and how does Iterable play a role?

Customer experience means timely and relevant messaging, received in the channel that best serves the customer. Iterable’s native functionality enables us to send time-sensitive messaging in a holistic way across our key channels for a seamless customer experience.

Besides Iterable, what are the other tools in your marketing toolkit that you can’t live without?

I continuously find myself coming back to Asana. I use it daily, whether for tracking personal tasks or collaborating with team members. Also, I am a big fan of Google Sheets. It’s a “basic” tool but essential.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?

A former manager once told me, “Don’t tell them everything you know, tell them what they need to know.” It helped me think about information from the perspective of the person receiving it and anticipate what they would be interested in knowing and likely to ask about.

What’s one thing that can instantly make your day better?

Cuddles from my pup, Sonia.
