What brings you joy in your role?

I love collaborating with cross-functional teams, especially data and product, to test new strategies through lifecycle channels in a low-lift way without requiring engineering support. It’s exciting to extract insights from these experiments and then apply those learnings to enhance the product.

 

What is a common misconception about your role?

That it’s “just sending emails”.

 

What does customer experience mean to you, and how does Iterable play a role?

To me, customer experience encompasses every interaction a customer has with a brand, shaping their overall perception and relationship with it. Iterable plays a key role by allowing me to target and engage with customers at various touchpoints, responding to their specific actions in real time to deliver the most relevant and valuable next step in their journey.

 

What are some Iterable features that have made your job easier? Or have been game-changers for yourself and your team?

The ability to save commonly used rows in templates has been a game-changer, significantly reducing the time spent on template creation.  I’ve also seen success with Send Time Optimization (STO)—it’s easy to activate and has improved engagement rates. Additionally, Iterable’s cross-channel capabilities, spanning email, SMS, push, and in-app messaging, allow us to reach customers where they are, driving higher engagement and conversions.

 

Besides Iterable, what are the other tools in your marketing toolkit that you can’t live without?

Looker and Mixpanel are essential for analyzing data and extracting actionable insights without the need for SQL queries, making data-driven decision-making more accessible. Figma is another must-have for designing assets or leveraging FigJam for brainstorming and collaboration. It enhances both creative and strategic workflows.

 

What would you like to see brands doing more of? Or less of?

I’d love to see more brands optimizing and personalizing their transactional messages to align with their branding and overall messaging. These touchpoints are often overlooked, yet they present a valuable opportunity to reinforce brand identity and build customer connection while delivering important information. Consistency in messaging, even in transactional emails, can enhance the customer experience and strengthen brand loyalty.
